A Glimpse of Carmel: New Landscape Oil Paintings
I know it's been a minute since I’ve shared what's been happening on the painting front. Life, as it often is, has been busy but I’ve been quietly chipping away at a new body of work that I’m really proud of. And now, I’m finally ready to give you a peek inside the studio and share what I’ve been working on.
A Coastal Escape: Inspiration from Carmel
Back in November of 2024, Henry and I escaped Atlanta for a long weekend in San Francisco (and, not gonna lie, to chase a few extra Delta MQDs). One windy morning, we rented a car and followed the Pacific Coast Highway down to Carmel-by-the-Sea.
After lunch and a leisurely walk through town, we ended up at the beach. The light had that soft golden hour glow so I pulled out my iPhone and started taking photos. Carmel would be the subject of my next oil painting collection.

From Memory to Canvas: The Creative Journey
A few months later, I started translating those impressions into paint. What began as a loose idea slowly evolved as I worked. The colors that emerged were soft blues, sandy browns, and muted greens—the tones that had stayed with me most from that November day.
The brushwork in this series is a little different for me. I leaned into patterned, textured strokes to bring movement and dimension to the pieces. Some came together quickly, while others went through layer after layer before they felt right.
The final collection includes nine oil paintings, ranging in size from 12" x 12" to 36" x 36". The smallest pieces are close-up studies of seaweed—dense, textural, and intimate. The larger works are expansive landscapes, capturing different moods and perspectives of the coastline.

I’ll be sharing more images and behind-the-scenes looks over the next couple of weeks, but if you’d like first access to the full collection, I’m opening up a VIP list. Those on the list will get to see (and purchase) the work early—starting Tuesday, June 3—before the collection is released to everyone on June 5.
To join the VIP list, sign up for my newsletter below or send me a DM via Instagram with your email. I’d love to share this work with you first.
